Increase Blog's Traffic, by Social Bookmarking

Previously, there is an article about Increase Blog's Traffic by Technorati (a social bookmarking URL). In fact, there are many social bookmarking website available our there, such as Digg, Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Blinklist, etc, & all all of them have only 1 purposes, to deliver articles to the world.

So, to let readers easily bookmark an article, blogger can intergrate social bookmark links in his/her blog. To do that, follow the below:

2) Where to place the Social Bookmarking Icon Links? Login blogger, then Go to Template > Edit HTML > check the box “Expand Widget Templates”.

2.1) To place the bookmark links below "Posts" & before the “Posted By” line, scroll to these lines & place the relevant code at the red portion:-

Add Popup Boxes for Blog

Some bloggers may want to put a popup message before his/her readers intend to log-on. The message can be flexible, some people deliver humorous message & some people deliver alert message, depend on the content of blog.

To add a Popup Box with Message into blog, please go through below:

1) Login to Blogger account, go to Template > Page Elements > Add a Page Element > select HTML/JavaScript.

2) Paste the code:-

Feedburner, Add FeedCount Chicklet

FeedBurner is widely known & Wikipedia describes it as:-

"A news feed management provider, which provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, & other web-based content publishers. Services provided to publishers include traffic analysis & an optional advertising system."

FeedBurner allows user to understand her/his blog's traffic by putting a script step-by-step as below:-

1) User needs to burn his/her blog by FeedBurner. Please logon FeedBurner, register & then start burning but putting the blog's URL into the coluum as shown at the below snapshot:-

2) After burning, click on "Publicize" & then "FeedCount".

3) Choose the type of "Chicklet" & then "Activate".

4) Copy the HTML code/script & then paste into blog.

5) For Blogger, he/she can add a page element of "HTML/JavaScript" for copy & paste the FeedCount code.

Is Blackle really Darkened Google?

Some people claim that "Blackle" is a darkened/black version of "Google", which is invented to achieve energy saving purposes. The thing is, does "Blackle" really a product of "Google"? Does "Black" really help energy saving?

Google advice that there are some things people can do now to reduce the energy used by computer, such as:

3. Turn down the brightness on your monitor.
4. Make sure your next computer meets the efficiency standards of Climate Savers Computing (an efficient computer uses up to 50% less energy than a conventional one)

Windows Live Messenger Virus

This is about MSN/Windows Live Messenger's Virus/Trojan, which "AGAIN" spreading to the world recently. Many victims found difficulty to solve it, though many solutions have been shared throughout the web. Just Google about it, the results will be shocking.

The virus basically sends a random message to people in messenger contacts, with messages like:

1. "haha lets hope your parents don't see this picture of you" ...or
2. "I've been editing some pics you should def see em lol!"

The contact will also try to send a *.zip file called ImageXX.zip (where XX is a random number, e.g. “image08.zip”). Please note that the message & file name may always be different / changed, anyway just be careful & always try to double confirm with sender when receiving this kind of message. If a message is found weird, the best way is to click cancel & do not receive it.

A symptom of this virus is making IE (especially ver.7) keeps on popping-up new windows of advertisements, which is annoying. Once IE is infected, of course user may feel no confident on security/privacy.

Solution:-

1. When MSN / Windows Live Messenger is infected by this virus, may be the PC will start lacking (or running slow).
2. Restart PC & proceed to Safe Mode. If the PC cannot restart due to slow response, then perhaps force it to turn off by manually pressing restart button.
3. Run Anti-spyware & Anti-virus in Safe Mode. Delete those detected virus / trojan / malware, etc. Here are 2 freebies (i) anti-virus like Avast! & (ii) anti-spayware like Spyware Terminator, which are quite useful for this problem.
4. Clear all temp files & cookies. An useful tool is called ATF Cleaner, which can clear those files quite well, just download it from here.
5. After scanning & cleaning in Safe Mode, restart PC in normal mode & then uninstall MSN / Windows Live Messenger & IE7 in order to clear all those shits.
6. Restart PC again & reinstall MSN / Windows Live Messenger & IE7. Done!

Some people will need to repeat the above steps few times (please do not forget to update virus/spyware database) in order to clear these virus. In case a PC cannot completely be cured, perhaps user can consider formatting his/her OS (anyway this is always a best way to remove virus).
